Nooooooooo... I would have hated that. It's not respectful to a great artist who achieved so much at that point of her career. I'm glad they didn't call the album Super Bitch. Maybe that is interesting for a pop star of today but certainly not for Miss Peggy Lee in my opinion. Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Check this out. Peggy on the Jackie Gleason Show, 1953, vamping her way around a great performance of "Louisville Lou" and a lovely version of "When I Fall in Love". A first time see for me. Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Hi Ivan, Nice to see you writing on the bulletin board again. I indeed stopped mentioning it here for the reason you gave and also because a lot of the news etc. is available on social media like Facebook and Instagram. Peggy's fan page on Facebook is fantastic and give us a lot of nice updates and news etc. The need for updates on the bulletin board is slightly old fashioned I guess ;-). Keep an eye on YouTube and check it on a daily basis. Every day new clips from Peggy on the Ed Sullivan Show are posted. Wonderful performances which I haven't seen before. I wonder why this is? Although I'm not complaining. Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Two wonderful performances by Peggy on the Ed Sullivan Show. I've never seen them before and always great to see this fine performances for the first time. Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Thanks, guys, for letting me know the exact show this was taken from. Haven't seen the DVD of her first British TV show so far. Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Nice performance of Peggy singing Fever with special lyrics for starters. I assume this is from The Chevy Show: Four in One. Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Peggy on the Danny Kaye show on YouTube. Wonderful performances. A funny duet with Danny Kaye but my favourite is her performance of "Here's That Rainy Day". Peggy magic! The Danny Kaye Show (Dec 21, 1966) Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Check this one out. New on YouTube and a first timer for me, but a wonderful performance by Peggy, Sergio and Nancy. Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Check out two new videos on YouTube with Peggy looking totally different. One is a charming interview and the other is her performances for the tribute and funeral of the great Louis Armstrong (poor quality video but still great). My favorite is her performance of "I Can't Give You Anything But Love" with some great musicians. Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
My compliments for the new and improved website of Peggy. It is modern, hip and great looking! Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Never seen this before. Nice interview. Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
We celebrate Peggy's centennial in 2020 and today I found this performance from 1946 on YouTube. A very young Peggy looking divine and singing one of my favourites. Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Hi Cateb, nice to see you are back on the bulletin board and yes this is one of my favourites too. They all sound so wonderful together. It was on YouTube before and it's fantastic. Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Thanks for your kind words Ivan. It's my pleasure. I knew this was an important one and I'll keep posting if I think it's new or worthwhile mention here. Checking YouTube on a regular basis. ;-) Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Wonderful clip of Peggy performing on the Jack Paar Show. Also nice chat between Peggy and Jack. I had never seen it before and it made my day. Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Check out this wonderful performance by Paul McCartney, Peggy and Dionne Warwick. A beautiful rendition of the famous song Yesterday. It's touching and the voices blend in beautifully. Keep safe and healthy everybody. This might cheer you up. Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Happy New Year everybody. Many thanks for a lovely video of the young Peggy with her friends and family. She loved life! I hope some surprising new things will appear in the centennial year. Richard.by Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
You can find information on this recording in the discography. It was recorded on June 6 1967. You'll find it in the chapter studio sessions Capitol part 5 (1963 - 1967). It's a fun song and Peggy's humor shines through it. Love it too. Richard.by Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Check out this performance of Peggy on the Danny Kaye show, 1966. She sings her own song "So What's New". Lovely performance I have never seen before and oh how I love the raising of the eyebrow, so typically Peggy. Hope other songs from this show will be posted too. Interesting to read your post Ivan on Billie and Peggy. I think it's clear that Billie wasn't too kind to Peggy and others in the later years of her life when she felt depressed and maybe drug abuse changed her personality and she became more aggressive in general. Sad to know she was such a wonderful talented lady and ended so bad. But also interesting while negative comments on for example Ellaby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
I remember too reading about Billie and not being too fond of Peggy. Both are song stylists and have similar styles but are great artists on their own, in my opinion. Not sure why Billie wasn't too fond of Peggy. Maybe someone can share some thoughts on this topic. Richard.by Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
That performance on the Steve Allen Show of "How Do You Erase a Memory" is one of her best indeed. She wrote "How Do You Erase a Memory". She should have recorded it. Love it. Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Ivan, many thanks for showing us the photo of Craig and Peggy. Never knew a photo existed and great to know they have met each other. Chuck is indeed hilarious as Peggy. He does a very funny performance of Is That All There Is?. Jim Bailey does a serious act as Peggy but I think it's much more difficult to do it in a realistic way. Peggy is hard to imitate. People like Judy and Barbra are more ouby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
I was surprised to that Peggy and Jim embraced each other. I thought they never have met. I recently saw part of a performance of Chuck Sweeney on YouTube (Lee Squared). It always makes me laugh because it's so funny. We have had discussions on the female impersonators and I really enjoy the performance by Craig Russell from a concert/show in Amsterdam. He also does the other great ladies and it'by Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Hello Cate and Ivan, Well... I too love "I See You". When I heard it for the first time I was deeply moved, because I thought this is such a great song to end an impressive recording career with. The lyrics are perfect and the song is melancholy to my ears and I love Peggy's voice here. Somehow it makes me a little sad to listen to, but I do every now and then. I said it before; I prefer to thby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Hello Iván, Nice to read your latest post. Although I'm not on Facebook anymore I check Peggy's page on FB every now and then. I hope next year will give us some new items to discuss here, like a new DVD, an update on the biopic and maybe some unreleased material. It's a special year, so I keep my fingers crossed. Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Somehow I missed the biopic on Judy Garland and I was surprised to see the trailer with Renee Zellweger. It will come out in September and let's hope it will be a success. At least something to look forward to. I love Judy, like Peggy she had a marvelous sense of humour. Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
I suppose this performance is not on YouTube anymore. This happens sometimes. By the way, check out Peggy's performance of Send in the Clowns. One of my favourite TV performances in her later years. Very touching and perfectly done. I know you will love it. Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
Nice story! You fell under the mesmerizing spell of Miss Peggy Lee, just like the rest of us ;-). Richardby Richardholland - Peggy Lee Bulletin Board
